Hamilton Island, located in the Whitsunday Islands off the coast of Queensland, has accommodation from $AUD200 per room per night.

Hamilton Island has four hotels including freestanding bungalows, self-contained apartments, an international hotel and a new five-star beachfront boutique hotel. The island also has a choice of ten restaurants and an impressive array of activities suitable for the entire family. Both Ansett Australia and Qantas fly to Hamilton Island daily.

On Christmas Day, guests have a choice of festive dining options ranging from a casual BBQ at one of the beachside swimming pools to sumptuous seafood buffets. Christmas luncheon prices have been kept at a minimum with the island's award-winning signature restaurant, The Beach House offering a Chefs Table for $AUD80 per person and one of the island's favourite family restaurants, Toucan Tango, is serving up a Seafood and Carvery buffet for $AUD60 per adult with children dining for free. Guests not wanting a formal festive feast can choose to dine at a variety of other restaurants which will be serving their usual menu.

One of the popular aspects Hamilton Island, all year round, is the 'Kid's Stay Play and Eat for Free' programme. This is available throughout the entire Christmas period and features free accommodation for children when using in existing bedding in accommodation shared with their parents (the self-contained Whitsunday Holiday Apartments accommodate five people). Children, from 6 weeks to 14 years have access to the Clownfish Club for supervised and accredited childcare and they also eat for free when dining with their parents in a selection of restaurants.

A limited number of rooms are available in all hotels up until December 30th. While the island is fully booked for New Year's Eve, accommodation is available from January 2nd onwards.
