MICE Conference 2004 Postponed

The Conference has drawn a number of confirmed bookings to date from the MICE Industry. The numbers have been encouraging but not sufficient in magnitude to stage a top class event, deserving of the industry.

The conference is intended to be a platform for the future collaboration between the various stakeholders, with emphasis in the programme, on a way forward to create strength through unity in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference & Exhibition) industry.

Shirelle Raubenheimer, General Manager of EXSA, comments "Our delegates interests are our prime concern. Their experience supercedes all other objectives and are the top priority. While the programme and speakers are all top notch, a cross-section of delegates is required for their participation and our objectives to be successful and create value."

EXSA remains passionate about this initiative and the decision to postpone was taken with a positive stance and a strong intention to re-visit the concept at a future date. EXSA thanks all contributors for their input and support and for the interest expressed by all.

Carol Weaving, EXSA Chairman, re-iterates "EXSA has taken the decision to postpone at this time in the best interests of all concerned and will continue to lobby for the closer collaboration of the various MICE Associations. The response has been encouraging and any initiative to bring about positive debate is worthy of our efforts. There are no losers in initiatives such as these, only challenges to overcome."

All delegates are to be refunded in full and any delegate queries should be addressed to the EXSA office Tel: (011) 805-7272 Fax: (011) 805 7273 or exsa@exsa.co.za.
