Elucidate (Thailand) today announced that delegates to the 15th annual Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and the official media corps will receive complimentary access to SpeakEasy(tm from 16 to 23 October. SpeakEasy is a language assistance hotline that tourists, business travelers and expatriate residents can call from any phone to talk to an interpreter who will help them communicate to Thais.

SpeakEasy enables users to talk to almost any Thai with the assistance of only a telephone. Users can tell a professional interpreter what they want to say, and then pass the phone to a Thai. The interpreter translates the conversation. When the Thai returns the phone, the user hears the translated response. In Thailand, SpeakEasy serves customers in English and Japanese, and will soon include Korean, German, French and Mandarin.

Although SpeakEasy is a first in Thailand, Elucidate offers a variety of language services to the maturing telephone interpreting industry in other countries. In June, the Thai Board of Investment (BOI) approved Elucidate's international call center project (http://www.boi.go.th/english/approvals/03jun17.pdf).

APEC delegates and the media must register with Elucidate to use complementary SpeakEasy services. Registration information will be available at various APEC locations and at the Elucidate booth, number 5C23, at the APEC Investment Mart.
